Ambulatory Veterinary Service Unit
- The Division of Veterinary Services provides a free door to door 24/7 services to livestock (cow, goat, sheep and pig) breeders.
- Field Veterinary officers are posted and also attended to sick cases according to their district allocated.
- Report of all attended cases on ODK system
- The veterinary officers have to make sure that provision of the Animal Disease Act 1925 is respected.
- Counseling to livestock breeders on farm husbandry, farm management and disease precaution as and when required.
- Help in disease and epidemiological surveillance.
- Assisting in disease and epidemiological surveillance.
- Perform primary confirmatory test on field such as Post Mortem
- Health check of animal prior export (as and when required).
- Provide veterinary services at the Mauritius Meat Authority for anti-Mortem and Post Mortem of every single animal slaughter.
